On my way to Australia in October of 1998 I stopped for a few days in California to visit a friend who lived in Santa Monica. We took a day trip with two other friends to Joshau Tree National Park, a few hours east of Los Angeles. It is a very popular rock climbing area and that was our goal for the days we spent there. This image is of Ian's two friends resting on a rock balcony while Ian was higher up setting anchors for us to use to climb.
