The Kodak International Newspaper Snapshot Awards of 1980 were sponsored in Toronto by the Toronto Sun newspaper. Each week three images would be chosen from the entries for the weekly judging, and the first place entries from each week would then be judged again for the overall winner for the duration of the competition. That entry would then be submitted against entries from all other sponsoring newspapers around Canada and the overall winner would then be chosen. This image of three girls in a long distance race at a track meet won me third place in the weekly judging of the event.
