We decided to do some nearby "scrambles" as they are known in the Rocky Mountains. Scrambles are essentially hiking to the summits of mountains that do not require any technical climbing skills or equipment. A good pair of hiking boots and decent fitness are all that is required. This is one section of a particular scramble that we did that actually had some snow on it.
