This is the ranger station at Camp Shurman, the half way point in the climb to the summit of Mount Ranier in Washington State. Rangers here tend to the needs of climbers and also affect any necessary rescues on the mountain. They also relay information to other ranger stations on the mountain about weather and climbing conditions.
