This is an image of the base camp on Denali Alaska, the highest mountain in North America. All sharp object such as crampons, ice axes and the like were kept far from the thin and easily damaged nylon tents. This rule was sacrosanct and indeed there was an instance well into the climb where one of our climbers accidentally chopped through the fly of his tent when trying to dig up a tent peg buried deep within the snow.
