It was extremely daunting to think that we were completely on our own, in the northern Canadian wilderness, "bear country" as it were, for the next twenty or so days with nothing more than a few maps and our whits. Regardless... we prepared for the hike of the Canol Heritage Trail in the Northwest Territories of Canada.
