One of the more interesting types of images I was able to capture in my tandem skydiving photography/videography was in conditions of hail. As skydivers we would never know until we exited the aircraft that there was in fact hail at altitude, and skydiving through it provided fabulously unusual images. My flash unit would reflect off each hail particle and produce these streaks creating a "star wars" effect to the image. Without a high powered flash unit, images like this would be impossible to capture.
