Lisa watches while we put picketts into the ice along the Autobahn of Denali, Alaska, the highest mountain in North America

My climbing mate Lisa watches Sam Hennesey leading myself and Manfred as we traverse the notoriously steep and dangerous section of the climb of Denali, Alaska, called the "Autobahn". We three are the tiny dots on the shadowed snow just above Lisa's left shoulder. "Pickets" are metal stakes driven deeply into the ice that the ropes that we were connected to are then connected to which will keep us from tumbling down the mountainside if we slip on such a steep and icy traverse. We were setting the pickets in preparation for our summit bid on the mountain which would follow later.
