On our drive through the south island of New Zealand we drove north up the west coast and turned east through "Arthurs Pass" a stunningly beautiful highway that meanders its way toward Christchurch. One one of our stops for the night we were treated to incredible cloud formations that appeared over the mountain ridges. I was later told that they were caused by the trade winds which come in over the Pacific Ocean and are bumped and rolled by the mountains. I spent a large part of the evening shooting the sun setting among these incredible cloud formations.
