During my month long trip to Paraguay in January of 2026 I managed to capture a few images of one of the more common owls of Paraguay (and most of South America). The Burrowing Owl is a curious bird that is awake in the daytime and lives in burrows in the ground. They aren't as skittish as many other birds of prey I've tried to photograph and I managed to capture a few nice shots of this species at... of all places... a golf course.
