The annual Leon Iowa rodeo held over the July 4th weekend begins with the kids events. One of these events is known as the "Wild Pony" event wherein kids are invited to try to drag an untamed, obstinate pony across a line in the arena dirt and then one of the kids is assigned to hop onto the pony and ride it across another line in the dirt. Whatever team does this the quickest wins the event.
