Saddle Bronc Riding at the Leon Iowa Rodeo
Saddle bronc busting is one of the premier events at any rodeo. The annual July 4th Leon Iowa rodeo has competitors from many neighbouring states arriving to take home first place in this event. Riders are required to exit the chute with their legs above the horse's shoulders and their free hand must not touch the horse or themselves and they must remain on the horse for at least eight seconds to qualify for a score. The top score is 100 and half is based on the animals aggressiveness and half is based on the riders skill and performance.
