Bull riding is the premier rough stock event at the annual July 4th Leon Iowa rodeo. Riders are strapped to the 1500 pound beast and must stay aboard it for at least eight seconds to score. They must not allow their free hand to touch themselves or the bull. A perfect score is 100, half coming from the aggressiveness of the bull and half from the performance of the rider.
