Steer wrestling is one of the rough stock events that occurs at the annual July 4th weekend rodeo in Leon Iowa. The cowboy is require to burst from the chute and drop down onto the steer and wrestle it to the ground with all four of its legs pointed upward. The "hazer" is the rider who gallops alongside the steer to keep it from veering off a straight line course. The quickest time wins the event.
